She received her B.Sc. degree with high honors in Chemical Engineering from Izmir Institute of Technology in 2011. She then pursued doctoral studies at the National Nanotechnology Research Center (UNAM), Bilkent University, focusing on silicon-based optical microresonators for label-free biosensing applications, and earned her Ph.D. in Materials Science and Nanotechnology in 2016.
Following her doctorate, she worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher and later as a Research Associate at Joanneum Research, Materials Institute for Surface Technologies and Photonics in Austria (2016–2021). During this period, she contributed to several European Union projects on pilot-line development and production of disposable polymer-based lab-on-chip devices for DNA/protein detection. One of these Horizon 2020 projects received the Austrian Fast Forward Award in 2018.
Her work at Joanneum Research also led to publications in high-impact journals, including a featured study in Lab on a Chip (2020), which was highlighted on the journal’s cover and received the “Best Performance Paper” award at the 10th Joanneum Research Conference in 2021. She has authored and co-authored ten scientific publications, including a review article on microresonators.
Since June 2022, she has been serving as an Assistant Professor at Ostim Technical University. Her research interests include Point-of-Care Diagnostic Systems, Lab-on-Chip Technologies, Biosensors, Nanobiomaterials, Biomedical Devices, Photonic Sensors, and Optical Microresonators.
