Dr. Gamze Çakır Kabakcı received her Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and her Master’s degree in Computational Mechanics from Middle East Technical University. She completed her doctoral studies at CY Cergy Paris Université (ISAE-Supméca), France, and at the Computational Science and Engineering (CSE) Laboratory of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Atılım University.

Her research focuses on computational mechanics, with particular emphasis on the numerical modeling of material behavior using advanced finite element analyses, representative volume element–based approaches, and user-defined material models (UMAT). Her work aims to provide reliable and predictive representations of mechanical behavior and to facilitate the effective application of numerical simulations to engineering problems.

She continues research at ISAE-Supméca within the framework of international collaborations. As of 2025, she serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at OSTİM Technical University, where she teaches courses in numerical methods and mechanics-based subjects.
