Dr. Akif Hacınecipoğlu received his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering at Middle East Technical University (METU) in 2009. After graduation, he worked as teaching and research assistant in the same department from 2010 until 2018. He received his M.Sc. degree with a thesis on development of a tele-operated semi-autonomous ground vehicle in 2012 and his Ph.D. degree with development of predictive human-aware navigation systems for mobile robots in 2019 from Mechanical Engineering department of METU.
He founded Milvus Robotics Ltd in 2011 where, with his co-founders, he developed Turkey’s first autonomous mobile robots for material handling needs in factories and warehouses. He also worked as a researcher and project manager in different robotics projects funded by TUBITAK and various associations. His main research areas are robotics, robot vision, autonomous systems, path planning and navigation.
